Call for Abstracts Now Open
NOW EXTENDED TO 22 FEBRUARY 2019
INVITATION TO CONTRIBUTE
You are invited to make a contribution to the Australian Marine Sciences Association (AMSA) Marine Science for a Blue Economy conference.
The Conference Scientific Committee will select submitted abstracts that complement focused concurrent sessions to form a balanced program that we hope will excite and engage all those attending the conference.
PRESENTATION TYPES
All abstracts submitted before the deadline will undergo review. There will be a restriction of one oral presentation per participant, but a poster presentation can be given in addition to an oral presentation.
CONFERENCE THEMES
The Scientific Committee is looking for presentations that address the symposia and general session themes. Detailed symposia information can be found below.

During the submission process, you will be asked for the below information. Please ensure you have all required items to complete your abstract submission.
- Abstract title
- Conference session – when open you will be able to choose your preferred symposium or general session theme and an alternate session
- Authors and affiliations
- Abstract text
ABSTRACT SELECTION CRITERIA
Want to make sure your abstract is accepted? The Scientific Committee will be looking for submissions that:
- are relevant to the theme of the conference
- are relevant to current issues/challenges
- have fresh/new scientific content, and data for specific topics
- are relevant to an audience
- are engaging for an audience and
- have a clear take-home benefit for delegates
ABSTRACT CONTENT GUIDELINES
To assist the Scientific Committee in deciding if your abstract is selected for the final conference program, please adhere to the following guidelines:
- The submitting presenter must ensure that all co-presenters have read and approved the title, summary, presenter names and affiliations.
- The abstract content must be no more than 200 words in length.
NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE
- People who have submitted abstracts will be notified of acceptance or otherwise via email in March 2019.
- The decision of abstract acceptance is at the discretion of the Scientific Committee.
REGISTRATION
Presenters are required to register for the conference prior to the conference early bird cut-off date. If you do not register and pay the registration fee by the due date, your presentation may be withdrawn from the program.
PUBLICATION OF PRESENTATIONS
Abstracts will be published on the AMSA2019 conference website and App during and following the conference. Photos, audio and/or video recordings made throughout the event may be made available to the registered delegates of the meeting. If you do not agree with the above, but wish to submit an abstract, please notify the conference managers at: lynne.greenaway@encanta.com.au

ABSTRACT TITLE
Please enter your abstract title in Arial font size 14 and bold. Do NOT capitalize all letters in the title of the abstract. Capitalise the first letter of all major words in the title as well as prepositions, articles and conjunctions of four letters or more.
AUTHORS AND AFFILIATIONS
Please enter your affiliations in Arial font size 11 and underline the presenting speaker.
List the complete first name, middle initials (optional), last name and institutional affiliation, as it should be listed in the conference publication if selected for presentation.
